Because many of our clients’ legal issues intersect with governmental concerns, we’ve developed proven methods for monitoring legislative and regulatory activity while using up to the minute information and powerful advocacy to shape policy and advance the interests of our clients.

A truly 21st century law firm with strong national, state and local government ties, we know how to get things done. We deal with all the major players on a daily basis. These personal and professional connections make us a force to be reckoned with.

Cases At A Glance

* Fighting on behalf of the rights of bodegas and small retailers and for the people of New York in an effort to stop Indian reservations, criminal enterprises and terrorists from selling illegal, untaxed cigarettes. This inaction by our government costs the state $2 billion dollars every year. We are a nation of laws and the government has refused to enforce the law and force every pack of cigarettes to be taxed in this state. We have cases where actual terrorists have used untaxed cigarettes to fuel their organizations. We are putting together groups of retailers and wholesalers and other alliances in order to bring light to this billion dollar problem.

* Fighting on behalf of families who have children with autism, which inflicts families from New York in epidemic proportions. We have an insurance bill that has been introduced in New York that will provide families with the reimbursement that they need in order to treat their children. The correlation between treatment and success cannot be disputed and we want insurance companies to reimburse families for treatment. We need to treat our children at the earliest ages possible in order to maximize success.

* Fighting on behalf of the best Special Needs school in the State against the State Education Department. State Ed has punished this school for trying to stand up for children and to not permit the bureaucrats in Albany to destroy the lives of these kids and families by putting them on endless waiting lists and shipping them out of the state. Our kids deserve better and that is what our clients want to provide. They want to improve their services by setting up a new high school. State Ed is blocking this because of a lawsuit and in turn ruining the lives of dozens of kids.

* Fighting for local towns and their ability to grow and take advantage of stimulus money.

* Fighting on behalf of small business owners against government bureaucracy.

* Fighting to keep the Islanders on Long Island and we are putting together coalitions of business owners and interested parties who agree that the Islanders and Lighthouse project are crucial to the future of Long Island.

* Fighting on behalf of the Institute for Basic Research, the only State funded laboratory in the country which investigates the causes for mental diseases and defects and has had major discoveries which have had an impact worldwide. Every year we must fight for their survival amidst devastating budget cuts.
