NY Gov. Paterson Appoints Brad Gerstman to Advisory Council On Interactive Media and Youth Violence

Brad Gerstman, pre-eminent government relations attorney, has been named by the Governor to the Advisory Council on Interactive Media and Youth Violence. In this new role, Gerstman will lend his expertise in children’s issues from his extensive background in advocacy for special needs children, health of children in undeserved communities, and his activities as an advocate for children against abuse and bullying.

Bradley L. Gerstman Named to Board of Directors of Nassau Community College Foundation

Bradley L. Gerstman has been named to the Nassau Community College Foundation Board of Directors for a two-year term. Jeffrey S. Morosof, Vice President of Institutional Advancement for the Nassau Community College Foundation said, “We’re very happy to welcome Brad Gerstman to the board and know that his expertise and support will truly benefit our mission of providing educational opportunities for students who might not otherwise be able to attend the college.”

David M. Schwartz Named Chair of Brooklyn Bar Association’s Criminal Court of the City of NY Committee

David M. Schwartz was named Chair of the Brooklyn Bar Association’s Criminal Court of the City of New York Committee for 2008-2009. Schwartz, who was previously Vice Chair of the committee, is also a board member of the Brooklyn Bar.
Schwartz, who served as an Assistant District Attorney in Kings County from 1993 through 1997, has spent his entire career as a litigator. He has also been actively involved with the political landscape in New York State.

Josephine, a Nassau County parent who requested that her last name not be mentioned, felt her school district wasn’t meeting the needs of her daughter, now 15, who has an autism spectrum disorder and was getting bullied in school. Over a period of a year and a half, Josephine attended half a dozen meetings with the district. After getting nowhere, she hired an attorney, who within four months negotiated a placement for her daughter outside the district in a private, special needs school.
