Ian W. Magerkurth

Born and raised on Long Island, Mr. Ian Magerkurth has spent years in the New York political scene. He joined Gotham Government Relations as a Policy Analyst, using his years of experience in federal, state, and local politics to develop and execute strategies to improve the business climate for small businesses, decrease litigation costs for medium-sized corporations, and promote educational opportunities for children.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Magerkurth served as Special Assistant to the Democratic Commissioner for the Nassau County Board of Elections and has worked on a wide array of political and advocacy campaigns in the federal, state, and local levels of Government.

Mr. Magerkurth was accepted into the New York State Senate Program in Albany, where he served as a Session Assistant for New York State Senator José M. Serrano and was subsequently hired as his Legislative Assistant. Mr. Magerkurth then went on to finish his degree in Washington D.C. through the SUNY Washington Program and working in the Press Office for former United States Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Mr. Magerkurth is a member of Pi Sigma Alpha National Political Science Honor Society, Xi Theta Chapter, as well as the American Political Science Association, the American Society for Public Administration, Action Long Island Young Adult Initiative, and Government Affairs Professionals. He received his B.A. in Political Science and Public Administration from SUNY College at Buffalo.
